Description
Atlas Flora Danica maps the wild Danish flora. Data collection took place from 1992 through 2012, and the voluntary monitoring work was carried out by members of the Danish Botanical Society. For this project, Denmark was divided into 2228 squares of 5 × 5 km. In all investigated squares, all plant species were recorded with a precision of 100 m (ca. 5.000 of the more than 1 mio. records have a precision from 150 til 5.000 m). About every other square in each 10 x 10 km square (total of 1330 squares) were surveyed and thereby obtaining good coverage of the whole country. The project gratefully received sponsoring from the Aage V. Jensen Nature Foundation. Atlas Flora Danica's purpose is to: 1) Show the Danish plant species’ current distribution and regional frequency, including decline or spread of species. Causes of these changes are discussed. 2) Examine the current status of red-listed, protected and rare plant species. 3) Publicize the Danish flora and the importance of protecting the plants and their habitats. Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 933,208 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
